Welcome, I'm Whit
I am a passionate psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP). I come from a perinatal nursing background spent at the bedside laboring with parents and supporting them postpartum. My focus has expanded beyond the perinatal realm to include many different mental health disorders, but this foundation has brought a profound respect for my patients, a commitment to holistic practice, and a primary goal of empowering those under my care.
I came to this work after the birth of my own baby when I was overcome with postpartum anxiety. With the care of a very special therapist and the help of medication, I found joy and connection again. I believe that is possible for all patients with the right support, and I want to be there to offer my understanding and experience in their journey.
I am a strong believer in community and appreciate that family can look many different ways. I identify as queer and nonbinary. I consider joy integral to health. I personally enjoy a good book, fooling around on my sewing machine, wandering through the woods, napping with my dog, chasing my kid, and big, loud family dinners.
Approach & Values
Let's walk together
Holistic Care
I believe in an integrated, holistic approach. You are not just a diagnosis, but a full person with a history, dreams, and struggles. Your physical body, social environment and larger community have large impacts on your mental and emotional health. Let's explore what options may best care for your body and mind.
Patient Empowerment
Your voice leads the way. My approach is to listen deeply, offer therapeutic options, provide clear education and tools. I hope to empower you to make informed decisions that align with your values and long-term goals. There is no judgement.
